1. What this is
jesseahawkins.com is a personal website run by Jesse Hawkins (“we”, “us”). It publishes research, data, automatically generated publications and free tools.
You accept these Terms when you tick the box on the sign-in form. If you do not agree, do not make an account or use the site beyond the home page. The Privacy Policy says how the site handles your data.
2. Free accounts
2.1 Reading the site needs a free account. The publications and tools cost nothing, and we do not plan to charge for them.
2.2 You must be 16 or older to make an account.
2.3 You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. There is no password. Use an address that you control and are allowed to use, and do not make an account for another person without their permission.
2.4 Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you, so keep your email account secure.
2.5 You can delete your account at any time on your account page. We can suspend or delete any account, at any time and for any reason, and we will do so if it breaks § 3 or § 4.
3. What you post
3.1 You own what you write, and you are responsible for it. When you post, you confirm that you have the right to post it.
3.2 You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, show and remove what you post on this site and in its feeds. The permission exists only so that the site can show your post to other people.
3.3 Do not post anything that is unlawful or infringing, that harasses, threatens or defames, that is sexual content involving minors, or that contains malware, other people’s personal data, spam or advertising.
3.4 A model checks each post before it is published, and some posts wait for a person to review them. We can refuse or remove any post, for any reason, without notice.
3.5 A published post is public. Other people can index, archive or copy it, and deleting it here does not delete those copies.
4. Acceptable use
Do not break into the site or interfere with it, scan it for weaknesses without permission, use it to send unwanted email to anyone, pretend to be someone else, or use automated tools that put more load on it than ordinary reading. You are welcome to read, link to, quote and cite what is published here, with attribution. Send security reports to [email protected], and do not test in a way that harms the service for other people.
5. No warranty
THE SITE, ITS PUBLICATIONS AND ITS TOOLS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
The publications are made from third-party sources with the help of AI, on a schedule. They show their sources and dates, and they can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. The tools show what third-party data services return. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, legal or other professional advice, and you must not use it as the only basis for a decision.
6. Limit of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT THE LAW PERMITS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, THAT COME FROM YOUR USE OF THIS SITE, WHATEVER THE LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY COULD OCCUR. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ABOUT THIS SITE IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).
Nothing in these Terms limits a liability that the law does not let us limit.
7. Intellectual property
The writing, design and code of this site are ours unless the page says otherwise. You may quote the site with attribution and a link, but you may not republish large parts of it as your own. Third-party material, such as data from the tools and quoted sources, belongs to its owners. If you think something here infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with enough detail to find the work and the material, and we will review it and remove it when that is right.
8. Changes to the site
We can change, suspend or stop any part of the site at any time, including the tools and publications.
9. Changes to these Terms
When these Terms change materially, the version at the top changes. Each sign-in asks you to agree to the current version, so a new version applies to you from your next sign-in.
10. Law and courts
The laws of the State of Iowa govern these Terms, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts in Polk County, Iowa, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
11. The rest
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about this site. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a term, we do not give up the right to enforce it later.
